Augustus and His Smile French Edition Catherine Rayner 9781846113512 Books Reviews
- I have been collecting children's books for about 10 years. I just came across Catherine Rayner's books about a week ago. This book is by far my favorite of all my books. Catherine's story of the tiger, the lay out of the tiger on the pages. The ending was great. It was great to imagine this majestic animal to have such warm and strength both. The ending was beautiful.
- This is a great book. I will be sharing it with many children at church and at school. The illustrations are charming and the story is a wonderful lesson with out being heavy handed.
- It was ok but some of her other books are better. Don't like the illustrations. What more can I say. The kids will fill in the rest/
- A beautiful story with bright illustrations which perfectly support the text
- My daughter and I love to read this book together. It is a beautiful story about joy and finding it. I love sharing the message with my 3 year old and the illustrations are beautiful. In would absolutely recommend this to everyone.
- This is one of my very favorite books for my three year-old daughter. How it escaped Caldecott recognition is beyond me - the illustrations are incredible, Asian-inspired works of art. Poor Augustus the tiger has lost his smile and sets off on a journey to find it, finally learning that it is always with him as is the joy and beauty in the world. Even my daughter understands the message, and we love reading it together. Highly recommend this book if you are in the mood for a change from some of the sillier (though still very good) kids books.
- This book is beautifully illustrated in bright water colors. Each page is splashed in vivid colors. The story is heart warming. My grand kids love me to read it to them whenever they come over.
- We checked this out of our library and my son LOVED this book. He asked us to read it everyday. The illustrations are gorgeous. Don't pass on this one.
