• Dr. Wingfield book Eyes Wide Open is an excellent tool for all those women who have been in violent or abusive relationships. As a protective parent who was in a domestic abusive marriage. The abuse continued on to my child where the abuser used the courts to continue his deviant criminal behavior. This book is extremely helpful in learning and bringing to the forefront how to handle the abusers coercive control. You will see exactly how you are being dragged into continued abuse of you and your children. Wingfield gives you all the tactics the abuser uses and I could identify all the coercive tactics which family court is ignorant to understand on how the abuser continues the abuse by using the courts to further there enjoyment of abuse. Wingfield gets it!!! I can only hope that more professionals can educate themselves and read this book. This is a helpful technique to use for protective parents. A Must Read!!!

• This is an amazing and much needed book that is a first step toward making huge change in the way we view relationships. Many of us have a starry-eyed perspective, believing that "he" (and sometimes "she") can't really be that bad. Even the abused partner, the victim, who may have been subjected to abuse for a long time, even that person may secretly believe that it can't be that bad, that something must be wrong with "me."
  
  This book provides intricate details of the words and tricks and manipulative actions that determined abusers often use to get what they want and how they sometimes manage to fool their friends and even the court system. Women need to read this book to help themselves remain strong and to possibly assist a friend or relative who has become an abused victim. Men need to read this book in order to realize that their power-over gig is ending and that it is time for them to seek help or to reign in their male friends and relatives who are abusive perpetrators.
• Dr. Debra has created an enormously important tool that can potentially save thousands of lives from very preventable forms of abuse. As society we have been ignorant to what has been happening in the family court system and how it affects our most vulnerable people - children.
  
  This book is a life offering born out of complete dedication to the subject and unconditional love to every child and every parent who dared to stand up and speak up. It helps those parents better understand the reality they find themselves in, and navigate through it to a safer harbor with the least damage.
