"This book is such an interesting perspective of the simpler times in 50s-60s in New York City and how those times have evolved to present day. I love how myself as the reader can draw conclusions/find similarities in my generation (X) and younger generations, as well as with baby boomers! All with a matter-of-fact, yet friendly, Italian-from-Brooklyn-style tone that makes you laugh and think at the same time. I highly recommend this book to anyone! Bravo to Sal Martingano! :)"

- As a gen-x'er myself I found the book interesting to hear about the decades prior from the baby boomer generation (the generation my parents are from) and see how that molded the lives of that generation. Sal Martingano, the author, reflects on world events throughout his life including the Vietnam War - and how it impacted him and his crew of friends. It is a bit surreal being transported back to this time as Sal calls it when it was "a time when life never sucked". Boys of Brooklyn is a easy to read book, and has character (as it seems Sal does too). Being an Italian from Chicago, it's refreshing to see a story from an Italian (from the baby boomer era), that grew up in Brooklyn that isn't involved in or focused on the mob. All in all - a book I'd HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for a refreshing journey through the 50's, 60's, 70's, to current time.

- I couldn't put this book down. The Boys of Brooklyn has perfectly visualized what growing up in Brooklyn was like in the era of baby boomers. As a millennial who grew up in Jersey, I can appreciate the perspective that Sal Martingano brought in this book.
- I loved the book, the stories were interesting. Totally different life from how it is today, it was so much simpler then.
