Moon Minneapolis St Paul Travel Guide Tricia Cornell 9781640492011 Books Reviews

  • I was not happy with this book. It has 22 pages on Sights, then 41 pages on Restaurants, 17 on Nightlife and 21 on Shops. There are good restaurants, nightlife and shops in most large cities, and when you travel, it is easy to find out about these things when you arrive. The main reason that most people travel is to see things that are unique to their destination.

It has some good maps right at the front, but reading them is made much harder by all the different categories shown, despite the color coding. Map 2 has one entry for Sights and almost 50 for restaurants.

Also, this is the 2013 edition, but it says that the Hotel Minneapolis is part of the Doubletree chain, but is now part of the Marriott chain, The Weisman Art Museum at the University of MInnesota is a major attraction because of its architecture
and its art, but it is only briefly mentioned and is not listed in the index.
  • Love the way this guide is organized. Found its information and recommendations thoroughly reliable! Packed, but saves time and trouble by not providing *too* much info or *too* many choices. An unpretenious, invaluable guide. "The Best of" section is a highlight. Works equally well for budget and high-end travelers. Will buy more books from this series.
  • I like Moon guides & this one was very good. I read it on the plane to St. Paul & used it while I was there. Very informative.
  • Thorough and helpful.
  • Not very much information. The information that is presented is not well arranged or appealing. I'd skip this one and move on.
  • Only marginally familiar with the Twin Cities, but this guide is right about what we have visited in previous trips. Now looking forward to future visits with this book as our guide!
  • The information in the book was very good and helpful. I wish it outlined some suggested walks and has information about the city neighborhoods.
  • I am a frequent user of guidebooks, and this one does not disappoint. I am currently traveling to Minneapolis somewhat frequently over a 6 month period with people also not from the area, and we have found the restaurant descriptions and reviews and places to go very helpful.
